Seniors: Download your 2012 application DUE 3/9 at midnight
Application information will be distributed in senior classes in early February of the graduating year. After applications are submitted, a subcommittee of Foundation members will review applications, and present its recommendations to the entire Foundation in early May. Awards will be presented at the Senior Awards shortly before graduation.
Wine and Cheese Fundraiser
Please join us for a relaxing evening of wine, beer and cheese tasting while enjoying student art and musical performances. You'll be able to bid on VIP graduation seats and silent auction items. All proceeds go towards scholarships for Terra Linda students.

The Terra Linda High School Scholarship Foundation was established in January 1975 as a non-profit corporation for the purpose of granting awards to Terra Linda High School graduates who are continuing their education. Awards are made on the basis of goals, accomplishments and school involvement without regard to race, creed or sex. Any student who has a "C" average or higher and who plans to continue his or her education or training may apply.
Instructions for Award Recipients
TLSF award recipients should download the instructions for claiming awards. To claim your award, you must fill out the 'instructions' form and mail enrollment verification to the listed address.
Awards and Criteria
- Hector Benitez Honorary Award – for a student runner who has excelled in cross-country or track while maintaining a 2.0 or better GPA.
- Class of 1969 Award – for a student who effected positive change at TLHS while maintaining high academic achievement.
- Michael Gardner Honorary Wrestling Award – for a wrestler who displays inspiration, determination and leadership.
- Jack Haehl Memorial Art Award – for a visual arts student who plans to continue his/her artistic development in college and perhaps pursue a career that involves the visual arts.
- Ellis D. Jaquette Memorial Award – this will be awarded to a student excelling in a foreign language.
- John T. Kakleas Memorial Award – for a football athlete who best displays inspiration and determination in his play and leadership.
- Steve Kostecki Memorial Award – for an athlete who reflects sportsmanship despite overcoming a hardship.
- Ruth Levy Memorial Award – for a student pursuing their education at a community college.
- Kari Loberg Memorial Award – for an aquatic athlete who inspires Trojan Spirit through leadership and achievement.
- Dr. Larry Lyon Memorial Award – for a student who plans to pursue a career in education.
- Flora Mancebo Honorary Award – will be awarded to a student who excels in science.
- John and Harriet Michael Award – honoring Mr. Peter Paolino for a student who has succeeded in spite of a learning disability.
- Dick O’Brien Memorial Award – for a football athlete involved in other extra curricular activities.
- Larry Samuel Memorial Award – for a student who has participated in sports and served as a volunteer in youth sports programs in the community.
- Susan Wyatt Memorial Award – for a student who has excelled in journalism or been active in student government while maintaining high academic standards.
- Hank Yamagata Memorial Award – for a student who will participate in college activities or major in physical education, physical rehabilitation therapy or sports medicine.
- Eric Sorensen Memorial Scholarship – for a student pursuing a degree in music and is active in the music community outside of school.
- Richard Loberg Scholarship – for a student pursuing a degree in business.
- Arcima Taylor/Hugh Silvis Award – for a student highly involved in community service and planning to pursue a career either in education or the performing arts.
- John Migdal Award – for a student athlete with high ambition both on and off the field.
- Santa Venetia Neighbors Helping Neighbors Award -- for a Santa Venetia resident with a 2.8+ GPA and community service participation.
FOUNDATION AWARDS
1. Showing Initiative - a student how has shown initiative while at TL.
2. Automotive – an auto shop student pursuing an education related to automotive technology.
3. Health Related – a student who is pursuing an education in health related field.
4. English Excellence – a student who has shown excellence in English.
5. Math Excellence – a student who has shown excellence in Math.
6. First Generation – a student who is the first in their family to go to college.
7. Consistent Achiever – a student who consistently does their best.
8. Performing Arts Excellence – a student who has excelled in the performing arts at TL (theatre, choir, orchestra or
band).
9. Technology – awarded to a student pursuing an education in technology: computer science, engineering,
biotechnology, alternative energy, etc.
*The Terra Linda Scholarship Board awards additional awards each year based on applications received.
